I can grow plants in water. First, the seeds must germinate. After sprouting,
the opened seeds are placed in a bowl of water. Next, days slowly pass as
the sprout grows taller. Eventually, a flower will bloom.
Plants are usually grown in a flower pot. It contains soil. A seed is buried
in the flower pot's soil. Apply enough water to moisten the soil. Too much
water will drown the seed.
Here, I grow Bonsai Lotus in water. This hobby is called Aquaponics. After germination, sprouted seeds are placed in water. Fertilizer should be added
to provide the nutrients plants normally get from soil. Or, you could put fish
to live in the water and their waste will provide nutrients.
Bonsai Lotus needs bright light to grow. On some days, it shows no growth.
Other times, the plant gains a few inches during the night. Be sure to
record the growth. I draw pictures or take photos with a camera.
I have grown several Bonsai Lotus sprouts. The stems grow very long.
There are white roots sticking out at the end. Fish fry hide between the stems.
I have never had a flower bloom so I never find out what color seed I planted.
